We strengthen health systems at Chemolingot sub-County Hospital and satellite facilities through infrastructure development, medical supplies, training, health information systems and policy advocacy. At the Hospital we have rehabilitated several buildings (ward for patients, laboratory and the kitchen). We have equipped these with needed standard supplies. This has dramatically improved access to Kala-azar services bringing these closer and at no financial cost. Myriad of health workers have been trained in skills centered on full management for Kala-azar patients. Data systems have been strengthened through training, harmonization of reporting tools and ICT. We work directly with the Baringo County Health Department and the national Ministry of Health to inform, advocate and execute policies for Kala-azar and other NTDs.
